At 25, Sven Bruchfeld, winemaker and one of the founders of POLKURA, had the opportunity to work with the first modern Syrah wines made in Chile, at a time when the variety was beginning to define its identity in the country. This early experience shaped his vision and his understanding of the balance between origin, technique, and character.
Although not everything at POLKURA is Syrah, this variety is one of the best at revealing where it was planted, which is what makes it so fascinating. It is precisely on the Polkura Hill in Marchigüe, the eastern slope of the Colchagua Valley’s Coastal Range, where it found a new origin.
